Made in China: Civil Rights Violations, Persecution and Cancel Culture As Olympic Events

IMPORTANT READS

THE DOCTOR IS IN - As I stated in my last piece, Cancel Culture is alive and well in the United States. That said, we've got nothing on China.

I didn't see anti-Trump protestors (provided they were non-violent, and even when they WERE) yanked into gulags in droves...but it was great that Americans had the right to protest, insult, demean, and deride our last President (Trumpster, Drumpf, Orange Julius, Hitler, etc.).

And I don't see anyone get imprisoned for demeaning and calling our current President names or epithets (Brandon, Sleepy Joe, Lyin' Biden, Hitler, etc.). That, too, is a good thing--whether the current President deserves the derision or not is really quite a moot point when it comes to ventilating and protesting in a free society.

Yet use a "Winnie the Pooh" description of China's President Xi, and something terrible could happen to you and/or your family. You could lose access to food, utilities, a house, or a job...or maybe you could be sent to prison. Or maybe you all could just disappear.

It's no secret that while we're Cancel Culturing each other too much (and frankly, as hosts of all political bents are stating, it's mostly happening from Big Hollywood and the Left, although any Right-Wing Cancelling is just as abhorrent).

But China takes that art form to a whole new level

So for Washington's "brave leaders" to allow this travesty of an Olympics in arguably one the world's worst civil-rights-violating nations, where thieves of intellectual property become millionaires and billionaires, and in one of the worst actively imperialistic nations of the world (China) is a joke and insult to all of us.

Who the hell amongst the International Olympic Committee (IOC) let the Olympics end up in China?

Oh, yeah, that's right--those who both here in the U.S. and abroad are bought and owned by China.

So...whaddaya know? Brave Nancy Pelosi informs and advises the athletes to keep their mouths shut about China. No "Jesse Owens and Hitler" moments for us this time around, right?

And...whaddaya know? A Dutch reporter following the rules around the Olympic compound suddenly gets yanked away by the local Chinese gendarmes. Such courtesy to the rest of the world!

Having our own Counter-Olympics, or Free Olympics, or whatever name we could call it to pull athletes away in a United States city we'd love to watch, either now or after this current farce in China is over?

Forget it--the Chinese won, yet again, as we stood aside and let them just do it.

And speaking of "just do it", it appears that LeBron James and Nike will continue to get rich while enabling civil rights abuses, child labor, and persecution that could only be Made in China.

So meanwhile, back at home we're letting moronic shows that once served a purpose (such as The View) collapse from honest debate and discussion into Politically-Correct Blathering and Cancel Culturing by some of the most uneducated, nasty, and controlling idiots this otherwise-brilliant nation has to offer.

Seriously...wouldn't China just be so damned proud of us?

No wonder China can just get away with all of this--and even with their guns-and-money censorship of whatever the hell caused the COVID-19 virus to destroy the world with untold-of numbers of human beings dead or disabled?

Because we let them.

We let them. Wouldn't the ancient Greeks be so damned proud?

And we did so with a level of hypocrisy and abandonment of our Western and American principles that occurred at levels of Olympian proportions.
