Revolution Stage Company Presents Third Annual 10-Minute Play Festival

PALM SPRINGS AREA

ENTERTAINMENT - Revolution Stage Company Palm Springs will kick off the new year with its third annual 10-Minute Play Festival, returning January 10 and 11 with an energetic lineup of original short works written and performed by local talent. The festival features 16 very short plays, divided into two groups, giving audiences the flexibility to enjoy an afternoon or evening of quick, engaging, and wildly diverse theater.

The 10-minute play format—hugely popular at festivals nationwide—offers a unique way to sample a wide range of theatrical styles in a single sitting. From comedy to drama, experimental to heartfelt, these compact productions showcase the creativity and skill of the region’s playwrights, directors, and actors.

This year, Group One includes a very special offering: Dinner at Home, a poignant and empathetic new play written, produced, and (loosely) directed by the author of this announcement. Featuring the exceptional talents of Ray Kelly and Mary Jo Thatcher, the piece explores connection, vulnerability, and the quiet moments that shape our lives. While the credit says “directed,” the process was greatly supported by renowned local actor and creative force Melanie Blue, whose artistic insight helped bring the work to life.

Both Group One and Group Two will present two performances each:

Performance Schedule

  • Group One
    • Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 1:30 PM
    • Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM

If past years are any guide, these shows are expected to fill quickly, and early reservations are strongly encouraged.
