Don’t Let America Become France

VOICES

OP/ED - Happy 4th of July 2023.  Please allow me to interrupt your daily program of barbeques, beer drinking and setting off fireworks for just a moment. As one who appreciate facts, I would like to add some context to what’s happening in France.

My wife is from France and has family there, including the city or Paris. It’s important to note that Paris, like Los Angeles, is a large city which spans 41 square miles (Paris). I learned the following over the weekend.

  1. Most of the fires, looting & rioting are occurring outside the city proper, and have been limited to what we would call lower socioeconomic areas, where North African immigrants/refugees, both legal and illegal reside.

  2. In case you don’t know, these are the former French colonies where “immigrants/refugees” are migrating from, or their parents came from;

Egypt (1798-1801)

French Algeria (1830–1962)

Protectorate of Tunisia (1881–1956)

Protectorate in Morocco (1912–1956)

Military Territory of Fezzan-Ghadames (1943–1951)

  1. It is interesting to note that these migrants or “refugees” go to France (and other EU nations) but do not want to assimilate or learn the language, even though some of the rioters and looters seen in video destroying parts of France were actually born in France. They, like some in America, hate white people.

  2. The story about the mayor’s family being attacked and house set on fire by criminal rioters, was a suburb of Paris with its own city officials and was not the mayor of Paris.

  3. The rioters and looters and those destroying property in France are of the average age of 17 years, uneducated, unemployed males, living in ghettos on the outskirts of Paris. These rioters and looters, like the George Floyd rioters and looters, are simply taking advantage of the fact that a 17 yr old migrant was shot by French police.

  4. I’ve seen the video of the traffic stop and could see that the driver was uncooperative and when he attempted to drive away from officers trying to get him to exit the vehicle, he was shot. I can’t tell if the vehicle posed a threat to the officer or if the officer overreacted, but like in America, someone should be training young folks to “comply now, complain later.”

  5. Most of the destruction is happening way outside the city of Paris itself and confined to mostly suburban areas where migrants/refugees live (by choice).

Summary
A couple days ago, I referenced what is happening in France as “what is coming to America,” and I want to be clear about what I meant. I did not mean Muslims are coming to destroy America, which is already occurring and is internally created by both establishment political parties here at home.

The fires, looting, rioting and assaults on police in Paris remind me of the fires, looting and rioting in 2020 America, while one of the political parties (you already know which one) made excuses for the “mostly peaceful” rioting, looting, assaults on cops and federal agents and destruction of private and public property.

Life for Parisians in Paris itself is normal, in a city is famous for demonstrations and protests, and the current destruction in France seems to have had little impact on their daily lives. But I suppose, in France, like America, most people do not live or work in ghetto areas and are not touched on a daily basis by crime in our nice quiet little communities. So, we ignore what has happened and continues to happen in every major city in America and in the EU.

And, while America does not face a threat from violent Islamic extremists in 2023, we do face an immigration problem similar to France, by continuing to import uneducated, low-or no-skilled migrants/refuges who don’t speak the language into these respective countries. The tale of young men with no education and no job and no prospects (real or perceived) has societal consequences.

My city, Los Angeles, has become a dystopia for nomads, drug addicts, the mentally ill & career criminals, while your political leaders, the very folks you voted for (not me), ignore these issues and give you lip service to make you “feel good” about allowing your city, county, state and country to devolve into chaos. Props 47/57 & AB 109 have made California a criminal’s paradise.

America’s obsession (53% of the population) with releasing and keeping career criminals on the street to commit even more violence and crimes against unarmed, uninformed and well-intentioned but dumb citizens, has resulted in attacks on American cops, American police stations burned to the ground, cops restricted from enforcing the law so as to not “offend” criminals. Unabated retail theft and looting, street takeovers, and allowing nomads, the mentally ill, drug addicts and parolees who do not want to live by any societal norm to reside on city streets in encampments and RV’s is just outrageous.

Don’t let America become France.
