ELECTION 2024 - Poetry in Politics.
In the city of Angels, a political dance,
Where ballots are cast, hopes take a chance.
Election 2024, a tale unfolds,
Of Council races, stories untold.
Padilla, Harris-Dawson, Lee declare,
Victory's sweet in the political air.
Yet shadows linger, runoffs await,
For those whose victories aren't set straight.
Districts numbered, stories in play,
Candidates vie for the light of day.
In District 4, Raman stands tall,
But Weaver's shadow looms, a challenge to call.
Beneath the weight of special interest's sway,
Raman and Weaver in a heated fray.
A district redrawn, a battleground anew,
Conservative voices, a different view.
In District 10, Hutt's path unfolds,
Appointed incumbent, her story untold.
But Yoo, relentless, her campaign strong,
In Koreatown's embrace, she finds belong.
Redistricting's shift, a game-changer's role,
In District 14, where the heart's soul.
De León, once embattled, rises high,
But Jurado and Santiago, near to vie.
Scandal's shadow, a cloud o'er De León,
Yet still, he leads, in the race's echelon.
But November whispers, a different tale,
As choices loom, and voters assail.
A referendum on past, a verdict to weigh,
In the runoff's heat, who'll win the day?
Santiago, traditional, unions by his side,
Or Jurado, progressive, on the DSA ride?
In every district, a story to tell,
Of hopes and dreams, where fates may swell.
The city's heart beats, in ballots cast,
In the dance of democracy, a die is cast.
