👨👩👧👦 Family Friendly | 🐕 Dog-Friendly 5K | 🏃 All Skill Levels WelcomeRegistration is now open for the annual Griffith Park Run Half Marathon & 5K, a popular, family-friendly event that draws runners, walkers, and park lovers from across Los Angeles. Last year’s race welcomed around 1,000 participants, and the 2026 edition is expected to be even bigger.
The event partially benefits the Los Angeles Parks Foundation, supporting efforts to keep L.A.’s public parks beautiful, accessible, and thriving for everyone. Founded in 2008, the foundation works to enhance and preserve parks, recreational areas, and open spaces across the city.
The Half Marathon offers a truly unique course, guiding runners along Griffith Park’s main trails and past well-known landmarks including the park’s iconic merry-go-round and the Autry Museum of the American West. The 5K route is scenic, flat, and shaded—ideal for beginners and casual participants.
New for 2026: Dogs can officially register and run alongside their humans in the 5K, adding an extra dose of fun to this community-focused event.
All registered participants receive:
A commemorative finisher medal
A premium event t-shirt
Access to sampling booths and food trucks
Raffle prizes and post-race activities
Free public parking is available throughout Griffith Park and near the Autry, which serves as the start/finish and expo site. Participants are encouraged to follow posted event parking signage.
A great way to stay active, enjoy one of L.A.’s most beloved parks, and support local green spaces.
