CITYWATCH TODAY—This is one of those rare opportunities for LA’s City Council to let the world know … not where they stand … but what they stand for. Homophobia has no place in … especially in … Los Angeles. As Peter Dreier explains in Today’s CityWatch, the Council’s PLUM Committee will be called on to approve a Hollywood hotel project on April 4 for a major developer who is also a major promoter of homophobia. It’s a must read. And, it’s critical that you remind your councilmember where you stand in this endless civil rights fight. CityWatch will check the April 4 vote. We’ll let you know where your City Council stands.
LA leaders are taking a stand in the Sanctuary City battle. Bill Boyarsky provides that perspective.
And, it may be past time for the Mayor to take a stand on the endless dysfunction at the City’s Animal Services Department. Is it not past time for GM Barnette to step aside? Mis-remembering is one thing. Mis-informing is yet another. Not once but on numerous occasions. Phyllis Daugherty brings you up to date … in Today’s CityWatch.
Let me know what you think. We’re good listeners.
