CITYWATCH TODAY—Of all the political views we post, few things provoke more response than political issues involving animals. It’s a subject that crosses party lines, cultures, age groups and income brackets. For the most part we’re all touched by animals.
Unfortunately the management of LA’s Animal Services Department is about politics. In an attempt to protect ASD management and those who selected them, false ‘no kill’ numbers have been given, shelter issues have been covered up and mismanagement complaints have been ignored.
Now comes Phyllis Daugherty’s column questioning the Department’s practice of surgery on barely weaned kittens and yet another questionable chapter in the ASD’s history. It’s a must read … for animal lovers and politicos alike. In Today’s CityWatch.
It would appear ‘the resistance’ is here to stay. Angelenos and other Americans continue to take to the streets to celebrate, speak out, stand for things they believe in. Beth Cone Kramer introduces us to Alex Becker, the lead organizer for the upcoming March for Science. In Today’s CityWatch.
Check your ‘Resistance’ calendar … A Day Without Women is set for Wed, March 8. March for Science is set for Earth Day … April 22.
