And on the few occasions when it is a part of the conversation it is obvious that few of us understand what it is … let alone its importance. Most folks think it’s something owed you … as in ‘stop attacking President Trump … show some respect for the office.’
And I would remind these admonishers: Respect does not result from obligation or law or demand. It has to be e-a-r-n-e-d. Once we’ve recovered that bit of wisdom, then … perhaps … America will be great again.
