Editor’s Memo: Politics and Perspectives

WORLD WATCH

CITYWATCH TODAY—As the masthead reminds us, CityWatch is about ‘politics’ and ‘perspectives’. Today’s posting excels in ‘perspectives’ that prove that point.

Media conversation today was focused on what feels like a continuation of the open season on the deaths of black men by police officers. Pastor Rick Eisenlord … in Today’s CityWatch … offers a different perspective. He challenges Christian pastors to stand up and be counted. He says, ‘pastors have to stop the silent act.’

Joe Mathews writes that South LA is leading the way for California’s middle class and Peter Markowitz … in an NYT reprint … wonders if President Obama can use his presidential pardon powers to legalize immigrants. Both interesting perspectives … for Angelenos … in Today’s CityWatch.

Should Hillary have been charged in the e-mailgate fiasco? Alan Dershowitz and Mark Swanson have angles worth exploring.

Check it all out. Let us know what you think. Today’s CityWatch.
