CommentsCITYWATCH TODAY—This has been an extraordinary news cycle. An editor’s delight. Fantastical might better describe it.
The UK votes to exit the EU. SCOTUS gets our attention on abortion and affirmative action. Bernie won’t let go. The Dems went retro and conducted a sit-in on the House Chamber floor. And CityWatch … in today’s posting … provides a bunch of perspectives on all of it. But, a couple of today’s pieces deserve special mention.
A week ago, Jack Humphreville, in CityWatch uncovered an attempt by the City to overcharge the Water and Power people some $20 million for rent on offices at the Fig Plaza. The DWP Board saw the story, put the brakes on and postponed consideration of the planned rental while they take a second look. Jack brings us up to date on this hijacking in today’s LA Watchdog column … in CityWatch, of course.
A lot of folks have been wondering … some even frustrated and upset … what’s taking Bernie Sanders so long to get on the Democratic bandwagon and give Hillary a hand. CityWatch video reporter, Jennifer Caldwell, joined the ‘Still Bernie’ rally Sunday in Hollywood and provides some answers to the ‘what’s taking so long’ question in the CityWatch TV box … front page … in Today’s CityWatch.
A lot to feast on, this CityWatch. Take your time. Check it out. Let us know what you think.
