So What Are YOU Going To Spend Your Trump/Democratic/GOP/Socialist Payday On?

LPERN AT LARGE - Guess what, everybody? If the GOP keeps control of Congress, we each get $5000.00!

Guess what, everybody? The Democrats are gonna tax all those rich people and get free health care!

Guess what, everybody? The GOP is gonna give us all reduced taxes so we can keep and spend what we earn and there will be an increased amount of federal state revenues!

Guess what, everybody? The Socialists are gonna give us free groceries and rent-controlled apartments that will almost never go up in rent!

Guess what, everybody? We’re going to build mass transit left and right, including the CA-High Speed Rail Project, and travel will be low-cost if not almost downright free!

Guess what, everybody? We’re going to make the rich pay more into Social Security and Medicare and we’ll get a virtually free retirement and health care!

Guess what, everybody? Free college tuition is just around the corner, and ditto for free preschool—after all, if K-12 is free, why shouldn’t the schooling before and after K-12 be just as free!

Everything is FREE, or at least promised, with someone ELSE paying for what YOU want to get for no cost whatsoever!

Your minimum wage hike—FREE! (Don’t worry about the layoffs and business closures that result!)

Your tuition, and the tuition of your neighbors both legally and illegally here—FREE! (Don’t worry about those nasty tax and bond issues that will be someone ELSE’s problem!)

Your SNAP/Grocery/Food Stamp benefits—FREE! (Don’t worry about those nerds and chicken littles screaming about the debt!)

Your utilities—FREE if you’ve got solar! (Don’t worry about the other ratepayers and the crybaby wonks complaining about grids and overloads and economic models!)

Your gas prices—FREE if your ride a bike and walk and use Metro all the time! (Don’t worry about the rise in car commuting  at the same time transit ridership is also going up!)

So don’t worry...be HAPPY! Things are gonna be GREAT and turn out just FINE!

The problem is we’ve just listened to too many doomsayers, and we should instead trust the guys and gals in political office to take care of us like they always say they will!

Because it’s getting clearer and clearer and clearer that the politicians WILL take care of us!
