THE DOCTOR IS IN - I have always loved a good fantasy or science fiction story (Tolkien is my all-time favorite, with Zelazny, Heinlein, Asimov, Chalker, Norton, and Lewis, Herbert not too far behind), so I truly enjoyed the lovely fiction spewing from our Liar-In-Chief last Tuesday evening.
And to think how I wondered how people could presume Trump and G.W. Bush always told the truth, and how they hung onto their every word!
So now that there's no shortage of folks who think that Biden's doing a great job (!), and not just because they are happy to not hear Trump's non-filtered blathering anymore, so I guess there's no shortage of folks who just LOVE fantasy and science fiction even more than I do!
(Or maybe there's just a few of us who'll take ANYONE with a political "D" behind their name.)
Anyway, we can all agree that even a broken clock can be right twice a day, so even if one despises Donald J. Trump then it's incumbent on an adult to recognize where Donald J. Trump did a few things right.
So let's the Biden Gaslighting Tour begin!
1) Biden fixed COVID-19.
No, Trump fought like hell to get the vaccines started (despite the strange resistance of much of Red State America to these vaccines, and even more despite the fact that most GOP physicians and other providers got vaccinated).
But Biden and the Democratic Party very much used that pandemic to change the voting rules and let that wonderful pandemic crisis go to waste...and very much change the direction America was going economically and politically in 2020.
2) Biden is a big job-creator, and the economy is doing swimmingly well because of Biden and hIs policies.
No, Trump was the first president to really fight to bring jobs home from China, and he established jobs a-plenty by making America compete in a more business-friendly manner. Biden brought no jobs back...but the pandemic ended and people needed to work.
And as with President Obama, unemployment went down when the recession and/or pandemic benefits went down, and people had to work. Even the New York Times called B.S. on Biden's job claims.
Americans each having to work at 2-3 jobs to pay for huge rent hikes, utilities and the cost of gas is hardly a way to prove how "unemployment went down".
3) Biden will fight the fentanyl crisis, and the border crisis.
No, Trump fixed those crises, and Biden ripped them wide open. Deaths, craziness, and chaos now rock more than a few cities, and the COVID rules and financial benefits for those now here illegally dwarf what we give to homeless veterans.
Just ask the Democratic mayors who now get to feel the pain Texas and Florida do when those latter states' governors passed on those here illegally to New York, Washington D.C., etc.
4) Biden's fixing the cost of medicine and the health care crisis.
No, Trump made sure that insulin was affordable by presidential fiats and action, and ditto for making some equity exist between the U.S. and Canada/Europe with respect to the cost of medicines.
Also, unemployment really WAS down, so more had health insurance. Which is arguably the BEST way to fix the health care crisis.
5) Biden's brought inflation to bear.
No, Trump brought/kept inflation down with economic initiatives and cheap gas.
And the "Inflation Reduction Act" had damned little to do with inflation.
But the cost of gas, groceries, utilities, and rent have exploded under Biden...and just because Biden misused our oil reserves to artificially provide relief at the gas pump (which is still historically high!) right before the election, it's still back up.
And it's likely to keep going up...at least until the next election cycle arises.
So to conclude, if anyone believes the Huffy Post, the MSN/Newsweek/MSN/CNN echo chamber (95-100% Democrat, and kinda like the left-week equivalent of Breitbart, Newsmax, or Fox News), and if the Democrats are kind of like a political counterpart for our L.A. Lakers-loving Angelenos, then Biden's doing great.
And if the nation keeps buying that the guy causing problems is then going to fix them, and then benefit from that practice politically, then we all deserve anything we get.
