Biden's Southern Border Policy: A Legally Sanctioned Strategy of Chaos and Lawlessness

VOICES

THE DOC IS IN - When an NPR/Ipsos poll reports that a majority of Americans support the term "invasion" to describe the situation at our southern border, it doesn't bode well for future Congressional or Presidential races.

President Trump, in large part, won the 2016 presidential race on the immigration/southern border issue, and if that one issue was handed to Republican and Independent voters as the choice between a Biden/Trump tossup, Trump would likely get re-elected in a heartbeat. Many Democrats or other anti-Trump Americans might even be forced to (at the least) stay at home.

The aforementioned poll even has 40% of Democrats supporting the term "invasion", and of course 76% of Republicans agree with that term.

Assigning the cackling, incompetent, and absentee Vice President Harris to deal with this Biden-made crisis? Assigning an equally-incompetent Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to address the issue?

Hardly a strategy that most Americans can support with respect to the Biden Administration, and hardly one that most Americans voted for in November 2020.

The issues of human trafficking, and trafficking of fentanyl and other ultra-addictive drugs across the border used to (hate him and his Administration or not) be a hallmark of Washington prior to Joe Biden's election in November 2020, and the question of how many Americans have (as well with inflation and the economy) "buyer's remorse" is a good one.

Which, of course, will be reflected in this upcoming fall elections. President Trump is NOT in the White House (much to the relief of many reading this), but President Biden IS.

Nearly five million illegal immigrants crossing the border since the start of the Biden Administration? A very real thing.

And as Blue Cities and States are getting busloads of illegal immigrants ("illegal" as their violating international and American law by penetrating this and other nation's borders in a not-legal fashion) sent to them from southern Red States, the question of how to term those efforts as either "just desserts" or "hoisting New York City or Washington, D.C. by their own petards" gains importance.

Because "turnabout is fair play", and as New York City Mayor Adams complains about the practice of Florida and Texas to send so many illegal immigrants to his city, it's likely that any actions on the part of Arizona, Texas or Florida to continue this practice will likely enhance the popularity of those states' Republican governors.

And the claim that those immigrants are being bused against their will to blue cities/states? Not likely.

In many ways, the lawlessness of illegal immigration, and by extension the lawlessness of rampant homelessness, probably SHOULD be laid at the feet of any Blue Cities or States who support these sorts of policies.

Because, after all, that's why so many Republicans, Independents, and moderate Democrats are fleeing those Blue Cities and States.

And it's why so many Latinos, Asians, and African-Americans might not like the GOP...but aren't finding the Democratic Party representing their interests in ways that the Republican Party could not possibly be blamed for.

It's fairly obvious that the Biden Administration wouldn't illegally bring in so many immigrants who (as per American law, or the law of any nation) shouldn't be here if these immigrants weren't likely to vote Democratic in the future.

But the question of whether many second-, third- or older-generation Americans will leave the Democratic Party as a result of President Biden's immigration policies is a timely one.

So let's call the southern border what it is: legally-sanctioned chaos and lawlessness.

And let's call it what it also is: one of the gravest threats yet to the Democratic Party, and one that might return President Donald J. Trump to the White House starting in January 2025.
