CommentsTHE DOCTOR IS IN - You and I must cannot, nor must not, ignore the era in which we now find ourselves: in contrast to the true "Great Awakening" of the Renaissance that brought Western civilization out of the Dark Ages to combat the Great Enemy of political, religious, artistic ignorance...
...the West is now sinking into the mire of a "Denaissance" that allows a hideous new "Wokeness" to bring about a new Dark Age whereby the West is deemed to BE the Great Enemy to overcome.
Rather than recognize the overwhelming role of Western civilization--first in Europe, and then spread to the European colonies that became the United States of America--in both philosophy and mathematics alike, and throughout the range of political, economic, scientific, and humanitarian fields of truly revolutionary thought--the West is considered the oppressor, and not the liberator.
The definition of "Wokeness", as per the Cambridge Dictionary is "a state of being aware, especially of social problems such as racism and inequality".
The definition of "Wokeness" therefore completely is at odds with the historical reality (for those of us who still give a damn about actual history, and eschew rewritten history) of the Western Renaissance being at the center of ending systemic and inherent racism and inequality.
History rewritten is history falsified, and history stained to either knowingly or unknowingly ensnare future generations into a morass not of their making, and to which they must free themselves by relearning the true history denied them.
One particular example of our current Denaissance is the attempted efforts of Sacramento to end math as we know it by inserting politics and social justice into what is meant to be the impartial, emotionless, and accuracy-seeking rigorous field of mathematics.
By extension, changing mathematics into a "social justice" and "woke" liberal arts curriculum is anything BUT liberal, and ends the scientific and engineering knowledge that has made our planet a more livable world in which to live, and has extended the lifespan of humans throughout the globe.
Fortunately, academics of all races and geographic backgrounds raised the alarm to which we all must adhere, which is to keep the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) free of any overreaching "woke" doctrines of theologically (in contrast to scientifically) motivated dogma.
But the "woke" will remain "woke", and will fight for political, economic, and social dominance to reverse all of the Western-led, and centuries-long, struggle out of the ignorance of the Dark Ages, and will fight for control of the world to create a planet-wide New Dark Age.
We cannot ignore this onslaught to all to which we hold dear, and must hold true to the leadership of the academics who truly ARE academic, and will fight to REMAIN academic. Our new war and its struggles alike are not to be found on the battlefield, but in our universities, our economic and political powerhouses, and in our own homes.
Because our future, and that of future generations, relies on our society to embrace the history of what was, and not any fiction of what some deem it to be, as well as to embrace the future where such history is cherished, and not ever to be unlearned and relearned.
