Taking Another Look At My Recent Ysabel Jurado Article

THE EASTSIDER - After my recent article on Ysabel Jurado, with the unfortunate caption asking whether she was “losing it”, I knew something was not right when I read it online. It read like a hit piece. So, I started looking around to see what else was happening in CD14 politics that I wasn’t paying attention to.

Well, it turns out I’m hearing that Kevin De Leon is already making noises about running again when the next CD14 election comes up in 2028. And I’m hearing that some of the people involved in the Concerts in the Parks like Kevin De Leon a lot and don’t like Ysabel Jurado.

After all, Kevin De Leon did the same thing that Ysabel did. when he was running for CD14.  He wasn’t on the schedule.  In that case, his supporters talked to the Concert in the Park people, and he was allowed to come up on the stage and address the audience.  I know this because I was there.

As near as I can figure, she is now staffed up and they seem to be a solid group.  This article is a public apology for the caption of the article.  She works hard and is truly an independent voice on the City Council.

All that said, I went for the catchy header instead of first-class journalism.  I’ll try not to do it again.
