Center of Hope Responds to Los Angeles Wildfires with Relief and Restoration Efforts

RELIEF CENTER - In response to the devastating wildfires that swept across Los Angeles County, the Center of Hope, led by Pastor Geremy, launched a Fire Support Distribution Center to provide immediate relief to affected communities. Partnering with dedicated organizations, the church stepped in to offer essential resources and long-term recovery support to those impacted by the crisis.

“As the church, we are called to be a lifeline in times of crisis, offering not just prayer but tangible support,” said Pastor Geremy, Lead Pastor of Center of Hope L.A. “Right now, we’re stepping in to meet immediate needs—providing relief to those who’ve lost homes and possessions—while committing to the long road of recovery. Beyond helping with essentials, we’re focused on preserving the assets people have left and walking alongside them to navigate the complex aid and assistance systems. This is about more than relief; it’s about restoration and ensuring no one is left to rebuild alone.”

Immediate Relief and Essential Resources

At the onset of the wildfires, the Center of Hope quickly mobilized to assist families and individuals in need by providing critical resources and support services. These included:

  • Food, clothing, shoes, and accessories
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including masks, hand sanitizers, and gloves
  • Blankets, sheets, and pillows
  • Baby supplies and incontinence items
  • Hygiene supplies
  • Paper towels and toilet paper
  • Gift cards

The Fire Support Distribution Center served not only as a lifeline to families but also as a vital hub for over 25 organizations distributing goods and resources to affected communities. The Center of Hope expanded its impact further through partnerships with 40 for-profit and nonprofit organizations, allowing them to reach an even broader population in need.

Long-Term Support and Rebuilding Efforts

As the community transitions from emergency relief to rebuilding, the Center of Hope is committed to remaining an active partner in recovery efforts. Beyond distributing essential resources, the church is providing financial support and case management assistance to individuals navigating recovery programs offered by FEMA, the SBA, and insurance companies.

Through its partnership with the Neighborhood Housing Services of Los Angeles (NHS), the Center of Hope is offering free services to homeowners whose properties have been damaged by fire, wind, or smoke, including:

  • Financial counseling
  • Property assessments and inspections
  • Financial assistance
  • Connections to local resource networks

Community Cleanup and Day of Service

In the coming weeks, the church will host a Day of Service focused on on-the-ground cleanup efforts in Altadena, bringing together volunteers and resources to assist with recovery and restoration.
