THE VIEW FROM HERE - Mayor Karen Bass had only one criterion for her firing Fire Chief Kristin Crowley – Chief Crowley’s lack of personal loyalty to Karen Bass. Each and every excuse which Mayor Bass gave at her press conference was a falsehood. Donald Trump likewise requires personal loyalty to him and anyone who places their duty to the public ahead of kissing his posterior is fired or faces a barrage of unwarranted criticism.
Prior to the wildfires, Chief Crowley had been advising Mayor Bass orally and in writing of the fact that the LAFD was underfunded and not prepared for a major disaster – floods, earthquakes as well as fires. When the media asked Chief Crowley whether the underfunding impaired the firefighting efforts during the Palisades fire, she told the truth. Crowley merely stated what has been general knowledge for decades. In a polarized society, truth is a deadly sin.
Bass Blatant Falsehoods
Mayor Bass did not need anyone to advise her of the dire circumstances of LA. Infrastructure including the LAFD, the LAPD, the DWP, and just about every other agency including the corrupt city council except homelessness is underfunded. A look at Karen Bass’s history shows why she needed no additional input – but Crowley had been bringing the long-standing problem to Bass’s attention anyway.
Born in 1953 in Los Angeles, Karen Bass has been an elected representative of Los Angeles since 20024, first in the California Assembly and then in the US House of Representatives until she was elected LA Mayor in 2022. From 2004 to 2025 is more than two decades. From oldest to most recent, Karen Bass’s history is:
Born 1953 Karen Ruth Bass
- Member of the California State Assembly from the 47th district LA December 6, 2004 – November 30, 2010
- Member of the U.S. House of Representatives Los Angeles January 3, 2011 – December 9, 2022
- 43rd Mayor of Los Angeles December 12, 2022 -Present
For what God forsaken reason could Karen Bass have been our elected representative since 2004 and not know about the terrible state of the Los Angeles’ infrastructure, especially the fire department?
The fire department was in dire straits when she was elected in 2004, as the 2005 USA Today article brought to the nation’s attention. At that time, response times were of greatest concerns. People were needlessly dying because the department was so underfunded that paramedics were taking too long to arrive at medical emergencies. In 2011, Mayor Eric Garcetti proposed a solution – cut $200 Million from the LAFD budget as that would make response times shorter. What total asinine as absurdity! Naturally, response times increased, and more people die. In June 213, the LA civil grand jury found that Garcetti had based his funding reduction on false data and said the budget cuts should be restored. See They were not.
During the 2011 - 2013 public dispute, then LA fire department officials threatened to fire any fire fighters or paramedics who spoke to the public about the harmful impact Garcetti’s $200 Million reduced funding would have. Nonetheless, several firemen and paramedics showed up at the HUNC Townhall meeting harm which a small fire department would have. The 2011 threats are relevant since it appears that Bass’ new fire chief was in the LAFD top brass in the 2011 - 2013 regime which threatened the line personnel not to tell the truth to HUNC, the LA Times, or the grand jury.
Mayor Bass’s claim that Crowley did not tell Bass about the danger is absurd nonsense – everyone else in the city knew! It had been on all the news channels for days and the developing weather patterns had been carefully detailed by each and every TV station in the city and all the national weather services. Why did Karen Bass not know? Apparently, she was too immersed in her preparation of Woke DEI trip to Ghana to pay attention to Los Angeles.
For what earthly reason was Bass even going to Ghana? It is not a sister city. We know the reason; for Bass Woke DEI comes before everything else. That is why she refused to let the LAPD arrest BLM members who stormed city hall and closed down the city council. That appears to be the same Woke reason she would not allow the LAPD to investigation the Big Lie that three councilmembers were anti-Black. The real purpose of the second release of the tape appears to have been to help Hugo Martinez-Soto be elected CD 13 councilmember, but more importantly for the Woke DSA contingent was to take over the lucrative CD 14. If one thinks the new CD 14 councilmember Ysabel Jurado is not Woke, remember that she is the one who proclaimed, “fuck the police.”
Wasn’t it Karen Bass who interfered with UCLA and the LAPD stopping the anti-Semitism Woke UCLA campus take-over despite the fact that it was targeting Jewish students for intimidation and physical attacks? When Bass went out on town, non-woke forces quickly organized and the LAPD, Inglewood PD, Santa Monica PD, and the CHP broke up the Woke pro-Hamas encampment before Bass could do anything. Months later, a federal judge ruled that the Woke encampment had been discriminating against Jewish students while the authorities did nothing.
Mayor Bass’s devotion to Woke DEI, which has proven to be anti any non-Woke Mexican, has been her first priority. One should notice the cadre of Woke councilmembers who stood behind her at the press conference where she announced Kristin Crowley‘s firing.
One Last Word about Woke DEI
Martin Luther King’s statement of America’s core value holds true for every individual: Judge each individual by the content of her character and not by her skin color, gender, wokeness. Whether it not Crowley was a Work DEI hire because she is female and Gay is irrelevant – she is very competent, has respect of all other agencies, and told the truth. For Trump and Bass, there is nothing worse than a person lacks personal loyalty and who tells the truth.
