RANTZ & RAVEZ - Increasing Road Violence, Deadly Street Takeovers, Smash and Grab Robberies at retail stores, stealing dogs while being walked by their owners, Catalytic Converters stolen from parked cars, are all parts of the exploding number of crimes against people and property in a variety of neighborhoods throughout the 88 cities that comprise the communities of Los Angeles County managed by 5 County Supervisors.
We have all seen the TV reports of the violence and thefts in the various regions of Los Angeles County and beyond. We ask why is it continuing on a daily basis? Why can’t the police and Sheriff’s Departments bring it all to an end once and for all. The reason is very simple. Not enough police officers to handle all the crimes in the region and a NEGLIGENT and OUT of TOUCH District Attorney who believes people should not be held accountable or responsible for their criminal actions. It is a problem that can only be changed if a number of Criminal Justice System are modified. The number one is for Los Angeles County to elect a New District Attorney. One who will prosecute criminals who commit crimes and works with the demoralized and criticized law enforcement agencies that are struggling to serve crime victims in So Cal with significant lack of personnel, equipment, and funds to adequately “Protect and Serve” the Taxpayers and others who are fed up with the status quo when it comes to the lack of consequences for criminal activity. I will conclude this RantZ with this simple and direct statement….Enough is Enough with the 43rd District Attorney George Gascón and his pro-criminal Failed Agenda that has instilled fear in most people and cost innocent lives, including members of Law Enforcement; and help destroy the quality of life with his reign of terror throughout the entire region of Los Angeles County for us, our families, friends, and neighbors. Before you think of voting for Gascón, please talk to a friend or any crime victim and see what they experienced and must live with for the remainder of their life. Remember this, you may be the next victim of the Gascón reign of terror……
With all the reported Corruption at Los Angeles City Hall, I came across the following comments by Abraham Lincoln made on January 27, 1838.
When Abraham Lincoln was almost twenty-nine years old, he delivered an address before the Young Men’s Lyceum in Springfield, Illinois. “The Perpetuation of Our Political Institutions.” In his speech Lincoln argued that liberty could not survive without reverence for laws, a theme prompted in part by the murder of an abolitionist by a mob in Alton, Illinois.
Let every American, every lover of liberty, every well-wisher to his posterity, swear by the blood of the Revolution, never to violate in the least particular laws of the country, and never to tolerate their violation by others. As the Patriots of Seventy-six did to the support of the Declaration of Independence, so to the support of the Constitution and laws, let every American pledge his life, his property, and his sacred honor. Let every man remember that to violate the law is to trample on the blood of his father, and to tear the character of his own, and his children’s liberty. Let reverence for the laws be breathed by every American mother to the lisping babe that prattles on her lap. Let it be taught in schools, in seminaries, and in colleges. Let it be written in primers, spelling books, and in almanacs. Let it be preached from the pulpit, proclaimed in legislative halls, and enforced in courts of justice. And, in short let it become the political religion of the nation; and let the old and the young, the rich and the poor, the grave and the gay, of all sexes and tongues, and colors and conditions, sacrifice unceasingly upon its altars……
The once powerful and credible Los Angeles Times is headed for the final resting place in the changing and ending world of print media. The Herald Express Examiner fell a number of years ago following a strike by the employees.
As a young man growing up in Los Angeles, I worked for both the Los Angeles Times and Herald Express-Examiner. At one time Los Angeles had two thriving newspapers publishers. The Otis Chandler and William R. Hurst empires. Both established credible news reporting with many features and countless adds. Home delivery was very popular and news racks could be found on sidewalks throughout Southern California and beyond. In time, following a labor strike, Hurst shut down the paper and many people were left struggling economically.
On the other hand, the Times continued and slipped over the years. Today, the paper is on life support and headed for the final resting place in Los Angeles history.
When Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong purchased the paper, the paper started to fall and when his daughter entered the picture, the shining Los Angeles Times fell like a roller coaster at Magic Mountain. The paper has continued to lose advertisers and readers. To show how out of touch the Times has become, they recently Endorsed Gascón for the L.A. District Attorney. What a foolish decision by the editorial board at the Times. With the recent walkout by Times staff and termination of many personnel, the paper is slowly dying. With losses between $30 to $40 million a year there is no way the paper can survive. The historical Times building in downtown Los Angeles was once a beacon of information for all in Los Angeles and around the world. The end is near for the final edition of the Times.
There are many propositions and candidates on the March Ballot. I will be listing my recommendations for those interested in voting for individuals who will represent you with Honor, Honesty and Pride. If you care about your Family, Community and quality of life, my recommendations should suit you just fine. I am not for increasing our Taxes, removing our given rites as citizens, or destroying our neighborhoods. I am only supporting those candidates who will work for us and not fall into the pit of those elected and appointed city officials who have fallen into corruption as we have seen in Los Angeles politics in the last number of years.
I am not a Republican or Democrat. I am registered as a “Declined to State” and support and only vote for candidates who I believe will work for us and improve our quality of life, and not waste our tax dollars on foolish projects as we have seen many times over the years.
