LA Supports Green New Deal. Councilman Bonin Explains Why (Video)

JOBS AND ENVIRONMENT PACKAGE (VIDEO)-The City Council Voted unanimously this week to officially support the ambitious and necessary goals of the #GreenNewDeal. 

The Green New Deal is an ambitious approach to making the changes necessary to stop clime change from irreparably harming our environment. It is also a jobs program that will lift up and recreate the American middle Class, giving working families the same opportunity, hope, and optimism that FDR’s new deal game those fighting to survive the Great Depression.

And focuses on equity recognizing that institutional racism has helped create this mess and that the first in line to benefit from doing the work that must be done should be the people most severely harmed by pollution and corporate neglect.
