FRED TALK - There are 4 Democratic Socialists of America on the Los Angeles City Council--Eunisses Hernandez, Hugo Soto-Martinez, Ysabel Jurado and of course, their candidate for Mayor---"Nightmare" Nithya Raman. Let's start with the name of the party. There is no such thing as a Democratic Socialist--they are simply socialists. A wolf in sheep's clothing is still a wolf. They can try and label it anything they want, but their entire philosophy is socialist--which is a totally failed economic policy in every country its been enacted in---look at Eastern Europe before the fall of the wall, Cuba, Venezuela, the Soviet Union to name a few. They are simply leeches on our way of life. Not one of those four has created one job in our city--except for themselves of course---nor have they brought jobs or one company back to our city which is both woke and broke. The philosophy they expound is to mask the losers they all are. Have any of them made the city better--no! Have they improved the quality of life for our citizens? --No. When Ms. Hernandez smilingly talks to her constituency about defunding the police she does not even have the common sense to understand that it's an affront to every law-abiding citizen in our city. Defunding the police is simply more than a bad idea--it's moronic. Who is going to protect our City's merchants from having their goods robbed; or the unlawful takeover of our streets or protecting people from violent crimes. What comes next "Felony free Friday"?. Newsflash--there are bad people in the world and there have been since the beginning of time. Even in the middle ages there were constables to protect law abiding citizens. America wasn't built on socialism and if these people advocate it, the door to Moscow is wide open. There is no line of immigrants trying to move there where immediate occupancy is wide open. People want to come to this country to better their way of life---not repeat the places they have emigrated from. These four people need a wakeup call. We need to stop the exodus from this city--and all socialists can do is try and tax their way to solvency, which will only lead to more people leaving.
Now let's talk about the DSA's open, antisemitic bigotry which I believe is on display on a daily basis. Anti-Zionism is merely the excuse for antisemitism that oozes from their pores. The DSA "backs our Twitch Streamer Hasan Piker and rips the anti-socialism House resolution". Here are some of that VILE individual's comments--"Hamas is a thousand times better than Israel" and "vote for Hamas over Israel every single time" and that is only the tip of that bigoted iceberg. He had one quote, before it was withdrawn, that the US deserved 9/11. This twitch bigot's only claim to fame is that he has made a career from the bile that emanates from his lips. He's accomplished nothing in his life except spreading hate and bigotry---just another loser with a podcast. This also begs the question why is a candidate for US Senate seen campaigning with this pile of human detritus? It must be the water in Michigan. Piker is following in the footsteps of another vile human being, Father Coughlin--who in the late 30's was a vicious and blatant antisemite and advocate and defender for all of the Nazi's policies. He had a following of more than 30M people on radio. When the war came, the Church finally silenced him. This is who the DSA is---and why, on another note, Abdul El-Sayed will lose in Michigan. I've been a democrat for most of my life---but not anymore. I'm independent. There is no room in the tent for bigots and people who support them---and for the people who take their money and help support their campaigns--which is their right in America--it’s my right to call them what they are--collaborators with the enemy. They forget that if the trains ever run again, they won't get a pass--they will be on them also.
One of Plato's great quotes is that "One of the penalties of refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors". No one is more inferior than Nithya. She is totally unqualified for office and has the support of a party that spouts vile and bigoted ideology as part of their platform--so the question for all of us to consider is---as member of a party that spouts those despicable and vile ideas does that make you viler? I’ll leave that for all of you to make that decision; to be clear I've already made it--she is vile!!
I've talked to many people, and I know people are angry at our Mayor. That said redemption is part of the American fabric--and Karen has learned a lot from her mistakes, and I believe that for the future of our city, she deserves another chance. It's important that she be reelected.
Before I end this column, I want to discuss the race for city attorney. Marissa Roy is another disciple of the DSA philosophy and has every excuse for not holding people accountable (my opinion). She thinks Miss Demeanor is a 2nd grade teacher in the Sherman Oaks school system. We have all seen this movie before with George Gascon who was the DA and had a revolving door for his office---anything not to hold people accountable and he lost his reelection--just another compassionate idiot who the city's voters saw him for what he was and Marissa Roy is no better.
