A new study reveals Macon, GA is the Bitcoin capital of the U.S.
The research by the Decentralized Crypto Gaming site, Bety, analyzed the top 100 cities with the most Bitcoin ATMs via Statista. The number of Bitcoin ATMs in each city was compared to its land area to reveal the Bitcoin Capital of the U.S.
Macon, GA is the Bitcoin Capital of the U.S., with one Bitcoin ATM per 0.26 square miles. The city has 65 Bitcoin ATMs spread over a land area of 249.383 square miles, making cryptocurrency accessible to its population of over 150,000.
Jacksonville, FL ranks second, providing one Bitcoin ATM per 0.28 square miles. With 207 Bitcoin ATMs distributed over 747.261 square miles, the city caters to a population of nearly one million.
El Paso, TX holds the third spot with one Bitcoin ATM per 0.29 square miles. The city features 75 Bitcoin ATMs within 258.788 square miles, offering its 678,859 residents convenient access to cryptocurrency.
Albuquerque, NM is ranked fourth, maintaining a ratio of one Bitcoin ATM per 0.36 square miles. It boasts 68 Bitcoin ATMs across 187.266 square miles, serving a population of more than 550,000.
Oklahoma City, OK is fifth on the list, with one Bitcoin ATM available per 0.39 square miles. The city’s 238 Bitcoin ATMs span an area of 606.479 square miles, making digital currency transactions accessible to over 700,000 people.

In sixth place, Memphis, offers one Bitcoin ATM per 0.41 square miles, followed by Lubbock in seventh, with one Bitcoin ATM per 0.42 square miles. Fort Worth ranks eighth with one Bitcoin ATM every 0.44 square miles while Huntsville has one per 0.44 square miles. Nashville rounds out the top 10 with one Bitcoin ATM per 0.56 square miles.
