The City of Los Angeles will align with the County Health Officer order including allowing outdoor dining at restaurants starting on Friday. However, we must continue to protect our medical workers, our loved ones, and our community. That means wearing a mask, practicing physical distancing, and following the public health guidelines.
The following is allowed starting January 25 with adherence to all of the sector specific directives to ensure distancing, wearing of face coverings, and infection control:

COVID-19 VACCINE REGISTRATION OPEN FOR LA COUNTY RESIDENTS AGED 65 AND OLDER
Los Angeles County residents who are 65 years old and older can now register for COVID-19 vaccination appointments.
Residents in this high-priority age group should visit VaccinateLACounty.com to schedule their appointments, which will begin Wednesday, January 20th. Residents who don’t have computer access may call (833) 540-0473 between 8 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. for assistance with reservations. The vaccine supply is still extremely limited, and Los Angeles County continues to urge patience as we work urgently with our federal and state partners to expand capacity and supply in the weeks ahead.
To ensure that people at higher risk of transmission and illness are vaccinated first, Los Angeles County has established a tier system. In addition to those 65+, priority for current vaccination is going to frontline health care workers and residents and staff at skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
This strategy works to protect our entire community by ensuring that our most vulnerable and most critical healthcare workers do not get sick.
The opening of appointment registration for a new tier today comes as the County opens five large capacity vaccination sites across the County.
The five established sites, which were chosen for their regional accessibility and their ability to handle large capacities of people, are:
- Pomona Fairplex, 1101 W McKinley Ave., Pomona, CA 91768
- The Forum, 3900 W Manchester Blvd., Inglewood, CA 90305
- California State University, Northridge, 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge, CA 91330
- A. County Office of Education, 12830 Columbia Way, Downey, CA 90242
- Six Flags Magic Mountain, 26101 Magic Mountain Pkwy., Valencia, CA 91355
These large-scale vaccination sites started operating Tuesday, January 19, and will be able to vaccinate approximately 4,000 people per day at each site, significantly increasing the number of people vaccinated. The large-scale vaccination sites will aim to vaccinate 500,000 Los Angeles County residents in a month.
Vaccinations are free, and available to all, regardless of immigration status or insurance coverage. For those who have insurance, coverage information may be requested as part of the appointment scheduling process.
In addition to the L.A. County operated sites, residents have other options for making an appointment for a vaccine. Currently, more than 75 pharmacies have registered to provide vaccinations, and we will continue to add more as more vaccines are available. Vaccine allocations are also going to large healthcare provider organizations like Kaiser Permanente and Providence Health and Services. In addition, residents may call their healthcare provider, as well, who may direct them to a preferred location for the vaccine.

COVID-19 Vaccine
Vaccination for Healthcare Workers and Persons 65 and Over
California State University will become one of the five new vaccination sites starting January 19, 2021. The site will be located in their B1 and B2 parking lots. The site is expected to administer 4,000 vaccines a day. Eligible healthcare workers and those 65 years of age or older can sign up for a reservation at the County's website. Eligible healthcare workers must have verification documents, which include a healthcare worker badge with a photo, or a professional license and a photo identification, or a signed letter from an employer and a photo ID, or a pay stub from a healthcare provider with a name and a photo ID.

JANUARY CRIME STATS FOR RESEDA

In October 2020, construction began on the $19.5 million Reseda Blvd Complete Streets Project. This multi-agency project will transform Reseda Blvd between Parthenia St and Victory Blvd with pavement rehabilitation and roadway safety improvements, including: Sidewalk, driveway, and curb ramp repairs
Street resurfacing
Traffic signal upgrades
Bus boarding islands
Street trees
New continuous protected bicycle lane
Construction will extend for approximately 28 months, with the first year dedicated to concrete work on curb ramps, sidewalks, and driveways.

Progress Report
Over the past few months, City of LA crews have been actively working on the west side of the street between Bryant St and Ingomar St, reconstructing portions of the sidewalk and driveways in greatest need of repair, rebuilding corner curb ramps to meet current accessibility standards, and rebuilding broken curbs and gutters. The result will be safer, smoother surfaces for people walking, rolling, and driving on Reseda Blvd.
As of January 2021, crews have completed these elements between Bryant St and Ingomar St, and have started on the segment between Ingomar St and Keswick St. Crews will return to these segments in 2022-2023 to install the other project elements such as signals, bus boarding islands, trees, and lighting. Note that at intersections where changes to the traffic signals are planned, corner curb ramps will be upgraded later, at the same time that the signal work is completed.

What’s Next?
Through Spring 2021, sidewalk construction activity will continue progressing southward, on the west side of the street. You can continue to expect intermittent sidewalk and driveway closures and temporary parking restrictions in this area. Please be mindful of the work crews - we appreciate your patience as we work to improve this street!

The City of Los Angeles, City Clerk, in collaboration with the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (EmpowerLA), is excited to announce the upcoming 2021 Neighborhood Council Board Member Elections taking place beginning March 2021 through June 2021, on a rolling regional basis. The City Clerk has implemented an all Vote-By-Mail voting model for all 2021 NC Elections and has made available an online portal for stakeholders to participate.
What Are Neighborhood Councils (NCs)?
NCs throughout the City of LA were created in 1999 so communities could have a stronger voice at City Hall. NC Board members are volunteers elected to office by those who live, work, own real property, or have an interest in the community. WHO'S ON A NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL?
While Neighborhood Council board members are volunteers, they are public officials elected by the members of their community. Most board members serve two-year terms; a few Neighborhood Councils have four-year terms.
NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2020-2021 2020/21
91 of LA's 99 Neighborhood Councils are holding elections this season between November 2020 and mid-June 2021. Please note: voting in all NC elections this season will be exclusively Vote-By-Mail.
WHO CAN RUN OR VOTE?
Unlike other city, state, or federal elections, voting and being a candidate in Neighborhood Council (NC) elections is open to more than just the residents of a community. Participation is open to those who live, work, or own property or a business within an NC's boundaries, as well as to "community interest stakeholders," such as church members, local students (or parents of students), or members of local service organizations. Candidates need not be US citizens or legal residents to qualify. Participation is also open to the formerly incarcerated. The minimum age to vote is 16; the minimum age to run for most NC seats is 18, except for Youth Seat candidates, who may be between the ages of 14-17.

ATTENTION RESTAURANTS
Hello,
As you know, the LA Al Fresco program has been a lifeline to Los Angeles restaurants during the pandemic, with over 2000 restaurants permitted to-date. While outdoor dining is temporarily suspended, LADOT continues to process and approve applications and implement curbside and street closure dining operations as for use as soon as restrictions are lifted.
Thanks to Council leadership, LADOT was authorized for $2m in CARES Act funding to implement curbside and street closure dining locations across the City. The CARES Act requires us to spend all $2m before the end of the year and need your support to fulfill applications even while restrictions are in place.
We're strongly encouraging businesses to apply for curbside dining closures this week to allow us to install outdoor dining improvements before the end of the year (and in time to be reimbursed by CARES). If you know of any businesses or business districts that would benefit from this program, please direct them to our application portal or connect us with them directly as soon as you can.
To further support business engagement LADOT hired CicLAvia (a 501c3 nonprofit) and you may see them included on communication with businesses in your district.

Anyone interested in the future development of Reseda should attend and familiarize themselves on what the changes to the community plan are.
The city had a meeting/presentation on the 8th regarding updating the Reseda Community plan. The good side is that it looks like even though it is over, we can still access a video of the meeting by registering for the (now past) meeting. You can do that by going here:
