49th Annual L.A. Chinatown Firecracker

Celebrating Lunar New Year and the Year of the Ram

One of the largest and oldest Lunar New Year running events in the United States returns to historic Chinatown for its 49th year. The weekend includes 5K and 10K runs/walks, a 1K Kiddie Run, 2K PAW’er Dog Walk, 20- and 50-mile bike rides, and a two-day Lunar New Year festival.

Participants receive a commemorative race bib, collectible finisher’s medal, event T-shirt and goodie bag. The celebration also features lion dancers, the traditional lighting of more than 200,000 firecrackers, live entertainment, vendors, a beer garden, children’s activities and community resources.

  • Saturday, February 20
    • 50-Mile Half Century Bike Ride — 8:00 a.m.
    • 20-Mile Fun Bike Ride — 8:15 a.m.
    • 2K PAW’er Dog Walk — 9:00 a.m.
  • Sunday, February 21
    • 5K Timed Run/Walk — 8:00 a.m.
    • 10K Timed Run/Walk — 8:40 a.m.
    • 1K Kiddie Run — 9:45 a.m.
    • Kiddie Fun Zone with carnival games, face painting, pony rides, arts and crafts, rock climbing, puppet shows and more

Virtual participation is also available for those unable to attend in person.
