Chatsworth Neighborhood Council is soliciting candidates

Tuesday, Feb 16
The countdown is under way ... for you to seek a seat on the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council.

Time is slipping away. The clock stops sharply at 5 p.m., Thursday, February 18.

The Chatsworth Neighborhood Council is soliciting candidates to increase civic engagement and make government more responsive to our needs. And you have only a few days left to file to run for a two-year at-large seat on our board. Eleven of 21 seats are up for a vote.

Balloting will take place 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 19, at the Chatsworth Train Depot, 10038 Old Depot Plaza Road.

You can file your candidacy through February 18. Candidates should be available to participate in our Candidate Forum, Wednesday, March 2, and attend Council and committee meetings. The Council meets 7 p.m., the first Wednesday of each month except January and July, at Lawrence Middle School. See our new website at ChatsworthCouncil.org for meeting agendas and updates.

To qualify as a candidate you must either live, own property, work or own a business, board a horse, or be a community interest stakeholder with a substantial and ongoing participation within ZIP Code 91311.

The Chatsworth Neighborhood Council is one of 96 elected boards of volunteers established by the City Charter. Each Neighborhood Council advises the local council member, City Council, city Planning Department, zoning administrators, and other officials regarding public policy affecting their communities. Neighborhood Councils are funded by the city for civic improvements and community engagement.
