TreePeople Launches Concerts & Screenings at Coldwater Canyon Park
Where music, movie screenings and environmental education converge
LOS ANGELES, CA — TreePeople is thrilled to announce an exciting slate of concerts and film screenings at our S. Mark Taper Foundation Amphitheatre, an enchanting 150-person space nestled deep in the woods of our Coldwater Canyon Park. Our new TreePeople Presents programming provides a unique blend of entertainment and education throughout the season, giving Angelenos the joy of learning about and engaging with our local ecosystem while enjoying thoughtfully curated cultural programming. To view the full schedule of events and purchase tickets, visit treepeople.org/events. Before each concert and film screening, TreePeople experts will present micro-lectures on Southern California ecology. Past little lectures have included how Los Angeles is not a desert, how soil health affects immune systems, how palms are not trees, and more. These insightful talks will provide attendees with fascinating knowledge about the local ecosystem, ensuring that everyone leaves a little smarter and more aware of the natural world around them.

All TreePeople events support the critical environmental work our nonprofit does. In the past 50 years, we have planted millions of trees with millions of volunteers, educated hundreds of thousands of students on the environment, published dozens of studies/reports, restored acres and acres of forests up in our mountains, protected thousands of acres of land from being developed in the Santa Monica Mountains near Calabasas. We are also working on removing 500,000 square feet of asphalt on school campuses and replacing it with learning gardens and shaded fields and more natural spaces.
“We are excited to provide a space where people can not only enjoy top-notch entertainment but also connect with and learn about the natural environment,” said Alex Miller, Director of Marketing & Communications at TreePeople. “TreePeople’s unique expertise and park allows us to create a unique experience that enriches both the mind and soul.” Join us for an unforgettable experience where culture and nature converge. Guests are invited to come early and picnic before the events. Devendra Banhart playing at TreePeople's 2023 benefit concert, photo by Kat Nijmeddin TreePeople Presents:

TreePeople Presents:
Pearl Charles
Pearl’s latest work emerges from a time of change in her life which saw her relocate from her native Los Angeles to the fabled land of Joshua Tree – a pilgrimage taken by so many legendary rock stars before her. Accompanied by her partner and musical collaborator Michael Rault, her movement toward the country is a direct reversal of the 20th century currents which carried America’s population into the city. In that time the music of the country changed as it collided with the wide array of new machinery and gadgets the urban landscape had to offer – guitar amplifiers, radios, synthesizers and turntables. Now, as the tides turn in this post-mechanical age, Pearl Charles rides out of her hometown on a pacific ocean wave – and carries along with her this same country music, though now permanently altered by the beating hearts and drums of the city and its inhabitants. Her latest musical offering springs up from this fertile desert ground as a more refined distillation of her Country Disco signature sound that she introduced to the world on her previous record Magic Mirror.
