Dolores Huerta Foundation to Host 95th Birthday Fundraising Celebration Honoring Civil Rights Icon in Los Angeles

On Friday, June 6, 2025, the Dolores Huerta Foundation (DHF) will host a vibrant fundraising celebration in honor of civil rights icon Dolores Huerta’s 95th birthday at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes in downtown Los Angeles.

This special evening is not only a celebration of Dolores Huerta’s extraordinary life and legacy—it is also a fundraising event to support the ongoing work of the Dolores Huerta Foundation. Proceeds will directly benefit DHF’s grassroots organizing efforts across the Central Valley and beyond, helping build power in communities often left out of political and economic decision-making.

The evening will be emceed by Cece Valencia, beloved radio personality of 93.5 KDAY, and will feature special remarks, musical performances, and tributes to outstanding community leaders. Guests will enjoy food from Los Angeles culinary icons Guelaguetza and Los Molcajetes, as well as an inspiring evening under the stars.

This year’s honorees include:

• Bamby Salcedo – President and CEO of the TransLatin@ Coalition, recognized for her transformative advocacy for trans Latinas and marginalized communities.

• Yvonne Wheeler – President of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, celebrated for her lifelong commitment to workers’ rights and social justice.

• Ed Begley Jr. – Acclaimed actor and environmentalist, honored for his unwavering dedication to sustainability and environmental advocacy.
