INSIDE INGLEWOOD-On Wednesday, May 13, Inglewood’s police chief, Mark P. Fronterotta (photo), claimed a work day despite the fact that he was in Van Nuys courthouse to attend his son’s hearing regarding the latter’s charges of assault with a deadly weapon (ADW), second degree robbery, ADW with possible grievous bodily injury and terroristic criminal threats.
Visits and telephone calls to Inglewood Police Department at 1 Manchester Boulevard during the day revealed that both the chief and his secretary, Gloria McPeak, were out for the day. During one telephone call, an IPD cadet with the surname Bholat said, “The chief is working today, but he is working from home.”
Fronterotta lives in Calabasas, about 30 miles from IPD HQ.
Fronterotta, however, was also in Van Nuys Courthouse West on Slymar Avenue in Van Nuys, about 16 miles due east of his house.
Little was done despite the paid day Fronterotta gave himself to attend his son’s felony hearing. The next scheduled court date is June 9.
