Allowing the councils to administer their own elections has proved in some cases to be a wrong decision. And since DONE has no budget sufficient for a full oversight of the various councils, election outreach has not been done properly and therefore has allowed the same councils to merely select rather than elect their various board members.
That unfortunately has allowed some board members to remain in place without even being reelected. And as much as I would like to be in a position to research and or investigate some councils and their various budgetary systems and use of money … DONE has no budget which would allow that to happen.
I am seriously concerned that many councils are misusing what funds they have been allotted.
