Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell Returns to His Neighborhood Council Roots

ARCHIVE

LANCC REPORT - LA Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell told a full house at Saturday’s LA Neighborhood Council Coalition Briefing that his political roots began with neighborhood councils. He was co-founder of the Glassell Park Neighborhood Council … the third NC certified in Los Angeles.

He said that community activists are important and ‘serve in enlightened self interest for the betterment of the city.’

O’Farrell told the activist audience to approach the city with an attitude of partnership and to be assertive and constructive. Neighborhood Councils are the lobbyists for the people, he told the crowd.

Dr. Fred Pickel also guested at the LANCC and impressed enough to get a motion of support for suspending the DWP FIT-100 program until it can be reevaluated.
