LAST DAY TO APPLY FOR A VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOT

LOS ANGELES (February 21, 2013) — City Clerk June Lagmay announced today that applications for a Vote-By-Mail (VBM) ballot for the March 5, 2013 Primary Nominating Election must be received by the Office of the City Clerk - Election Division by Tuesday, February 26, 2013 by 5:00 p.m.  

The last day to apply for and vote a VBM ballot in person at the Election Division office is Monday, March 4, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.

 Applications for a VBM ballot can be found on the back cover of your Official Sample Ballot and Voter Information Pamphlet or on the Election Division website at http://clerk.lacity.org/elections/.  VBM applications in Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese are also available on the Election Division website.

VBM applications can also be faxed to the Election Division, VBM Section at (213) 978-0611 or (213) 978-0612.

Returning Voted Ballots

Voted VBM ballots may be dropped off at any polling place or received in the Election Division Office by the close of polls (8:00 p.m.) on Election Day, March 5, 2013.  A postmarked date is not considered valid. 

 In-person Voting in Election Division Office

Voting in the Election Division office began Monday, February 4, 2013 and continues through Monday, March 4, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.

The Office of the City Clerk - Election Division administers elections for the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Unified School District, and the Los Angeles Community College District.  The City’s Primary Nominating Election will be held March 5, 2013 and the General Municipal Election will be held May 21, 2013.  More information can be found on the Election Division’s website at: http://clerk.lacity.org/elections/
