POLITICS - The Los Angeles Chapter of the American Institute of Architects will host a unique series of LA Mayoral Forums beginning Friday, Feb17. The series is unique because candidates appear separately and in a discussion before a live audience format. City Councilwoman and mayoral candidate Jan Perry is first up on the 17th.
The events will be moderated by LA Times Architecture Critic Christopher Hawthorne and Planning Commission President Bill Roschen. Audience questions will be taken time permitting.
The Forums will be held at the Ron Deaton Civic Auditorium (100 West First Street) downtown and are open to the public. All Forums are on Friday evenings from 7pm to 9pm.
Jan Perry guests first on Feb 17, followed by Austin Beutner (Feb 24); Kevin James (Mar 2); Wendy Greuel (Mar 9); and Eric Garcetti (Mar 16).
Reports on what the candidates had to say and videos of all of the forums will be available on CityWatch each Saturday following each forum.
Candidates will be asked specific questions centered on the importance of City Planning, Urban Design and Architecture and about their vision for Los Angeles.
