#  Coyotes Are Notorious for Not Paying Rent

 THE VIEW FROM HERE - Developers are having trouble finding willing tenants for their densified projects. These last several days, a number news broadcasts featured a new source of renters. Coyotes have moved into a multi-storied project in West Hollywood. KABC news explains that the developer lost his funding. Is that like misplacing your car keys? “I know I had the funding when I came home last night, but I can’t find it now.” Since DTLA’s Graffiti Towers also lost its funding, I guess funding is something that anyone can easily misplace. Graffiti Towers think they have discovered new funding. We shall see.

For almost two decades, Angelenos have bought the Big Lie that Los Angeles’ failure to build more has caused the Homeless Crisis, proving that Angelenos will believe anything. Here is the astounding fact that should blow Angelenos’ minds. The Homeless Crisis was caused by tearing down poor people’s homes and evicting them to the streets where only high market units were available. Math is clearly not Angelenos’ forte. If someone who can barely afford $500/month rent has his apartment demolished and the lowest rent for another apartment is $1,100/month, he will remain homeless. If the Los Angeles City Council had not allowed the mass destruction of rent controlled properties, LA would have enough apartments to house each homeless person three times over. Los Angeles is proof that a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth and a sucker is born every minute.

West Hollywood’s Solution

The WeHo developer has constructed a three story multi-unit apartment complex for coyotes. As news reports indicate, "each coyote has his own bedroom." Ralph's and Albertson's, however refuse, to sell food to coyotes, forcing them to live off the land. This means rats, other small creatures including our pets, and food waste in garbage cans are their prime source of nourishment.

Developers’ Modest Proposal

Since apartment owners have to pay a fortune for garbage collection, they have decided that they will establish special coyotes eating stations. As the apartment owners observed, "coyotes are notorious for not paying rent." On the positive side, coyotes do not charge for disposing food garbage. Thus, rather than owners’ paying for waste management companies, developers will let coyotes do it for free -- in order to compensate for their freeloading on rent.

Let The Coyotes Eat the Rats!

Thus, owners can create protected Coyote Feeding Stations. This way pet owners will know which places to avoid while walking their dogs. People can start Go Fund me pages so that coyotes can have regular pet grooming and other vet services. Some councilmembers are urging that Medicare Care for All should include coyotes rather than relying on volunteer donations. At the same time that we have the coyotes groomed, we can spade and neuter them to keep their numbers under control.

Aggressive coyote behavior can be reduced by loading their food with sleeping pills and anti-depressants. The courts have ruled that Angelenos cannot handle the homeless population by surreptitiously drugging them, but their order does not apply to coyotes. Hopefully, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) won’t oppose coyote abortions. Mail order Mifeprex will be cheaper than physical abortions.

GoFundMe campaigns that prioritize high-end, organic flea treatments and premium grooming will stimulate new businesses which will cater to coyote condos residents, creating jobs for the homeless.

Coyotes’ Favorite Game Is “Catch Me If You Can”

They may be hard to catch for their first few grooming sessions, but we can fire tranquilizer darts into their posteriors. I am certain the coyotes will like being de-flea'ed and getting a nice wash and fluff every so often. Also, coyotes condos will make homeless encampments too dangerous for humans at night so that the poor will start disappearing from our streets. We will be killing two birds with one stone.

We can use the West Hollywood coyote complex as a model. Who knows, as Millennials flee LA, more and more unfinished apartments should become available. Developers can be earn a "coyote credit score." A developer’s funding can be contingent on how well his coyotes (1) separate plastics from food scraps at the eating stations, (2) how many rats they successfully clear per square foot, (3) if they learn to go to sleep at 10:00 pm and stop howling.

Cougar Lodges

We may even experiment with cougar lodges? Los Angeles is financially depend on construction dollars. The hills are filled with other predators. When extend the idea of coyote condos to cougar lodges for mountain lions looking to give up their nomadic life-style, we can stimulate the housing industrial complex.

The Legalities

Some argue that coyotes are natural predators and we should not change laws to make life easier for them. That attitude is hypocritical. For years we’ve have laws to safeguard Wall Street's predators and their housing scams, thereby destroying the housing market in LA, forcing the Millennials to flee. It is rank discrimination to favor White Wall Street predators and discriminate against fur-covered grey coyotes.

If we had used Quality of Life as a measure of sensible housing construction, Los Angeles was full by 1960. By the 2000's, the densification mania ruined the city. People have been leaving Los Angeles for over a decades. More construction in a market with less demand creates a bubble which will burst. What if all developer dollars flow into ai and Wall Street abandons its monetization of housing for the more lucrative ai market? Given Angelenos' simplistic understanding of everything and their capacity to believe anything under the sun, they will not only support “coyotes condos” but they will also finances newer and nicer coyotes projects and cougar lodges. It's a win-win proposition -- as far Angelenos can figure out.
