SOUTH OF THE 10 - The city of Inglewood will hold multiple public hearings Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at 2 p.m.

The city will take public input on increasing rates in the water department and seek input on the Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2020 and ending September 30, 2021. As of now, the regular city council agenda for Dec. 7 has yet to be published for the public’s review.

The city continues to take extraordinary steps to keep the public from attending in-person meetings in council chambers.

Residents who call in to the council meetings are routinely interrupted, badgered, and challenged by Mayor James Butts when they describe their experiences living in the city.

Tell your neighbors that because you were smart enough to reject higher property transfer taxes, on the Nov. 2 ballot, the City now wants to raise fees on your water bill.

Interestingly, the city is seeking comment on a document residents haven’t seen. The city expects to have the CAPER available online by Dec. 10.

*The required major components of the CAPER include assessments of the City’s performance in meeting the following: Consolidated Plan Goals and Objectives, Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing, Providing Affordable Housing Opportunities, Continuum of Care Support Services, Leveraging Resources, Citizen Comments, and Self-Evaluation.
