#  June 2 Voting Day Arrives in California as L.A. County Expands Access and Convenience

 VOTING DAY — June 2 marks Voting Day in California’s Statewide Direct Primary Election, but for many Los Angeles County voters, casting a ballot is no longer limited to standing in long Election Day lines at a neighborhood polling place.

Across the County, Vote Centers are already open, allowing voters to cast ballots near home, work, or school — often in just minutes. At one location, a voter stopped in during a lunch break. At another, someone who realized they had not registered was able to complete same-day registration and vote immediately.

Election officials say the modern voting process is increasingly built around flexibility, accessibility, and convenience.

Any registered voter in Los Angeles County can vote at any Vote Center, regardless of where they live within the County. Voters who missed the deadline to receive a Vote by Mail ballot can still participate through Conditional Voter Registration, available at all Vote Centers.

In addition, voters who already received Vote by Mail ballots may return them to any Vote Center or Official Ballot Drop Box throughout the County.

To help voters locate convenient sites, Los Angeles County offers an online locator tool at LOCATOR.LAVOTE.GOV, where residents can search for nearby Vote Centers and Official Ballot Drop Boxes, as well as view estimated wait times before heading out to vote.

Election officials are also emphasizing expanded voter assistance services. Many Vote Centers provide multilingual support, while trained election workers are available to guide voters through the process and assist with Ballot Marking Devices (BMDs), which help voters navigate lengthy candidate lists and ballot measures.

Voters may also use the County’s Interactive Sample Ballot, known as “Poll Pass,” to review choices in advance on a smartphone or computer. Upon arrival at a Vote Center, selections can be transferred directly to a Ballot Marking Device, helping speed up the voting process.

Officials continue encouraging voters not to wait until the final hours of Election Day, noting that the County’s expanded Vote Center system was designed to make voting easier, faster, and more accessible for millions of residents.
