--- # Caterpillar Soup at Santa Monica Playhouse for Benefit Thursday, Nov 07 ![](https://mail.citywatchla.com/images/Lyena204.jpeg) Critically acclaimed one-woman show **Caterpillar Soup** is returning to Santa Monica for three days only for a **20th anniversary performance Nov 21, 23, and 24**. These performances will benefit our nonprofit **'Help Hope Live'** in honor of the play's writer and performer **Lyena Strelkoff.** Lyena has been fundraising with us since 2003 for costs related to paralysis not covered by insurance. Her play is about her own transformation f**ollowing the fall from a tree that left Lyena, a lifelong dancer, paralyzed.** The play has received ovations across the country and as far away as Alaska. Lyena's return to the stage now signifies how far she's come, how much the play's themes of resilience and transformation impact all of our lives, and the importance of community support (and financial help) after a spinal cord injury. **Benefit Performance Schedule:** - **Thursday, November 21 at 7:30 pm PT** ([Click to register.](https://link.mediaoutreach.meltwater.com/ls/click?upn=u001.X6MlHW2mSjE-2BJPJyVZOgUFuxzTXbZdXNlscE2LYBFU-2FAyBRra43KsavX-2BkgaesN1LjuUBOMYY4pWTOBanGRttA-3D-3DlX5q_cDTSRqLCxZT0Bd1UW3okikVTLtBjyJSGdLF1oeXWidCFl8ykNI6QtUvIIgnJryKQqZ-2F-2FZiFXqgrJ0VMTlu822iGmh2KNC1-2FSjUvENzQcidSAl-2BXpm3m3jdgL-2BY4bzUDYz4yRNJYMowDmIm6ekunTQsK-2BIgf-2FgD3hUOUPx8l9LQju0wuwOQZTSxnu-2FYMvh7ci9jgo24Bg7IUx2d1Ulck-2FRrD2gNp03CQb9WiBMkVc-2BWoo-2BuLzA-2Ble-2Fvw-2Bl7iEnUkddgHlXTzXQoq6UnLDc9TtMl1d2y51WDOiIpHjQyA14T3CnKWvvb0OXk5Efu-2BXdwu6AzcALHq0IFU5axPIkMIN4lBiP5Vy5qnb-2B9xeoPczhNCG-2FUh-2FPH1mE4N1R5qmokp2)) - **Saturday, November 23 at 7:30 pm PT** ([Click to register.](https://link.mediaoutreach.meltwater.com/ls/click?upn=u001.X6MlHW2mSjE-2BJPJyVZOgUFuxzTXbZdXNlscE2LYBFU-2FAyBRra43KsavX-2BkgaesN1zmQZ-2FGJA9qUqNjP2ZSR-2BYw-3D-3DxP_C_cDTSRqLCxZT0Bd1UW3okikVTLtBjyJSGdLF1oeXWidCFl8ykNI6QtUvIIgnJryKQqZ-2F-2FZiFXqgrJ0VMTlu822iGmh2KNC1-2FSjUvENzQcidSAl-2BXpm3m3jdgL-2BY4bzUDYz4yRNJYMowDmIm6ekunTQsK-2BIgf-2FgD3hUOUPx8l9LQju0wuwOQZTSxnu-2FYMvh7ci9jgo24Bg7IUx2d1Ulck-2FRsDydUBfTt9YYlek6k7WhfyUK0t4LGyW-2BqSEmJHepLFT2VPUb0VlIzMSIZe9E1NytFXhBHqO5WqDd8-2Bop-2FOLA0ndKi2k2Yd1LlPywNA7ZkfLcl37SynflNI7CKvX5loe-2BKEIhxkfxRo50yc8vHZPh6-2BVMEQOZD3K8vFqhFT-2FMEZD)) - **Sunday, November 24 at 3:00 pm PT** ([Click to register.](https://link.mediaoutreach.meltwater.com/ls/click?upn=u001.X6MlHW2mSjE-2BJPJyVZOgUFuxzTXbZdXNlscE2LYBFU-2FAyBRra43KsavX-2BkgaesN1SECJ54ftp-2FbevdKwBcqYxg-3D-3DEfQz_cDTSRqLCxZT0Bd1UW3okikVTLtBjyJSGdLF1oeXWidCFl8ykNI6QtUvIIgnJryKQqZ-2F-2FZiFXqgrJ0VMTlu822iGmh2KNC1-2FSjUvENzQcidSAl-2BXpm3m3jdgL-2BY4bzUDYz4yRNJYMowDmIm6ekunTQsK-2BIgf-2FgD3hUOUPx8l9LQju0wuwOQZTSxnu-2FYMvh7ci9jgo24Bg7IUx2d1Ulck-2FRmQ5fhgXJzPRJWE5aFljRySkYbR9YcJQ8sWwjJcHTLFVzYJ3fj-2BUuStg2TH8xSZHY-2B1swREms-2Fx2AmTyKerfQbprlZCXy6r-2BDCuUP2o3vaqx3GaQwiGGRHtmvxau7Wsidk-2FtfuXkFr3M3XzI2zJEj3qxtaPItWhUA9y9NY9s93IE)) - **Streaming On Demand** ([Click to register.](https://link.mediaoutreach.meltwater.com/ls/click?upn=u001.X6MlHW2mSjE-2BJPJyVZOgUFuxzTXbZdXNlscE2LYBFU-2FAyBRra43KsavX-2BkgaesN1LjuUBOMYY4pWTOBanGRttA-3D-3DsRNb_cDTSRqLCxZT0Bd1UW3okikVTLtBjyJSGdLF1oeXWidCFl8ykNI6QtUvIIgnJryKQqZ-2F-2FZiFXqgrJ0VMTlu822iGmh2KNC1-2FSjUvENzQcidSAl-2BXpm3m3jdgL-2BY4bzUDYz4yRNJYMowDmIm6ekunTQsK-2BIgf-2FgD3hUOUPx8l9LQju0wuwOQZTSxnu-2FYMvh7ci9jgo24Bg7IUx2d1Ulck-2FRkzq0rSnI9aEldBtA0dx-2FQgZEFhlfnxRwRBbBjy5lizCDaLh8A9JbMI9YtYZkIyc4gt8ZQLIgYvsCxPLVwQ90wgUaESlHGWL7-2BNkj-2BaJTcmHw6hTNnzrcgGUe-2FDZb1DHVZ5fKUjz6jgoI2HQz4OaNQkhnb0-2FZBbLDiP-2Bf-2BHoDWBJ)) **Where:** Santa Monica Playhouse at 1211 4th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401 **What:** 20th anniversary performance of *Caterpillar Soup* play plus Q&A after show. **Cause:** Funds raised will go to the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Lyena Strelkoff to offset verified medical and related expenses. **Cost:** $25 to stream, $40 balcony seating, $50 main floor seating. **Register:** [Click here](https://link.mediaoutreach.meltwater.com/ls/click?upn=u001.X6MlHW2mSjE-2BJPJyVZOgUNvbjXeKIYmZ74tZ0q6P68dHh1-2BlXLV2yzBtKxRC53or8i5jv8-2Bs7vCmWhv-2FDMc-2F9Q-3D-3DH7o7_cDTSRqLCxZT0Bd1UW3okikVTLtBjyJSGdLF1oeXWidCFl8ykNI6QtUvIIgnJryKQqZ-2F-2FZiFXqgrJ0VMTlu822iGmh2KNC1-2FSjUvENzQcidSAl-2BXpm3m3jdgL-2BY4bzUDYz4yRNJYMowDmIm6ekunTQsK-2BIgf-2FgD3hUOUPx8l9LQju0wuwOQZTSxnu-2FYMvh7ci9jgo24Bg7IUx2d1Ulck-2FRi17ClHsjfIFMCSgUUFvi2P2CppL7VXvODwycAasKQvnwBiJPi2SjVYQCPnayWRb8A1rEtZbZ-2Briwdtyybth4xBPQIZXchQ48dYxp8cgVctGAQ8xsUZH4qEXfd77pmovn-2FgPjGk1B6MvaYsFiq5AhFqT3XJVj6TqSrTGWBPz6xmP) and navigate to the Fundraisers section to choose your dates. ![](https://mail.citywatchla.com/images/Lyena202.jpeg) ## Event Information [ ![save up to 4000 on used evs](https://mail.citywatchla.com/images/LADWP/dwp%20ev%20ad2.png) ](https://mail.citywatchla.com/component/banners/click/107 "LA DWP | Save $4K, Green | Priority Ad") [ ![Donna Tryfman](https://mail.citywatchla.com/images/ADS%20FOR%202026/Donna-Tryfman-Ad-Final-Complete-Border-White-Margin.png) ](https://mail.citywatchla.com/component/banners/click/98 "Donna Tryfman - HS1-1") [ ![LA DWP #2 (Power Savers)](https://mail.citywatchla.com/images/LADWP/2026%20LADWP%20PowerSavers%20300x250.png) ](https://mail.citywatchla.com/component/banners/click/82 "LA DWP #2 (Power Savers)") [ ![David DeJute Campaign](https://mail.citywatchla.com/images/ADS%20FOR%202026/DejuteAd.png) ](https://mail.citywatchla.com/component/banners/click/111 "David DeJute Campaign") [ ![Pay Water Bill Help](https://mail.citywatchla.com/images/LADWP/dwp%20-%20cares-ad.jpg) ](https://mail.citywatchla.com/component/banners/click/97 "Home - LA DWP #2 (Pay Water Bill Help)") [ ![Anna Reitano Vertical R.
