RESISTANCE WATCH--Teachers across the United States are having a moment.

RESISTANCE WATCH--A California city voted late Tuesday in favor of a sanctuary-like resolution to bar local authorities from supporting federal immigration enforcement. The development marks a win for undocumented migrants amid an intensifying tug of war between Washington and local governments, particularly in blue states like California. 

“I was driving when I heard ‘The President Sang Amazing Grace,”  Joan Baez told The Atlantic, “and I had to pull over to make sure I heard whose song it was because I knew I had to sing it.”

“The Republicans are in deep trouble.”

A conservative pollster has some bad news for the GOP: President Donald Trump’s sagging poll numbers could cost the party control of both houses of Congress. 

RESISTANCE WATCH--Roughly six months after Hurricane Maria slammed into Puerto Rico, the island's governor signed into law "education reform" legislation that he says "puts our students first" but that critics say stinks of a privatization plan that will do nothing to help students.

RESISTANCE WATCH--On Saturday, March 24, an estimated 200,000 plus people attended the March for Our Lives in Washington, DC and throughout the country in rallies and marches coordinated in conjunction with Everytown for Gun Safety. According to Mayor Garcetti, 55,000 participated in downtown Los Angeles. Since the fatal shootings in Parkland, Florida last month, Emma González, David Hogg, Cameron Kasky, Alex Wind, and Jaclyn Corin from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have become key leaders in a national discussion of gun regulation, as well as in youth activism. The weekend’s marches across the country are a testament to the power these students have to stimulate involvement among their peers.
