#  Letters to Mom: What I Never Got to Say

MESSAGES TO MOM - As Mother’s Day approaches, it brings with it celebration, memories—and for some, an ache that never quite goes away. Whether your mother has passed on, drifted out of reach, or simply never heard all the words in your heart, there’s a quiet truth many of us carry: **there are things we never got to say.**

So this Mother’s Day, instead of buying flowers or cards, we write letters. Not to be mailed, but to be felt. Words that carry love, regret, gratitude, and the weight of time. Here are some of those letters—pieces of what we never got to say.

**“I See You Now”**
*Dear Mom,*
*I didn’t understand everything you did when I was growing up. I thought you were just being tough or tired. But now that I’m older, I see it—you were carrying so much. You showed up every day, even when no one thanked you. I didn’t say it then, but thank you. I see you now.*

**“I’m Sorry I Didn’t Listen”**
*Dear Mom,*
*I rolled my eyes. I said, “I know” when I didn’t. I thought I had it all figured out. But the older I get, the more I hear your voice echoing in my decisions. I wish I had listened closer. You were trying to help, not control. I get it now. I’m sorry.*

**“You Were My Safe Place”**
*Dear Mom,*
*Even when the world felt big or scary or too much, you made things feel okay. You were the one I ran to, even when I didn’t know why. I never told you how much that mattered. But it did. It still does.*

**“You Deserved More”**
*Dear Mom,*
*You gave everything—your time, your energy, your dreams—for us. And sometimes, we took and took without realizing how much it cost you. I wish I could have given you more. You deserved more rest, more joy, more recognition. You deserved the world.*

**“I Love You, Even If I Never Said It Enough”**
*Dear Mom,*
*We said “I love you” in passing, in habit, at the end of phone calls. But I want you to know I meant it with everything in me. And I wish I had said it more. Slower. Louder. Truer.*

These are just a few of the letters that live in so many of us. Some are filled with warmth, some with longing. But all are rooted in love—the kind that only a mother can shape in us.

This Mother’s Day, if you’re carrying unspoken words in your heart, write them down. Say them in your way. Because sometimes, the most powerful healing begins with simply saying what we never got to say.
