This year, we will be hosting a six-webinar series online and free of charge, and we hope that neighborhood leaders and stakeholders, as well as our CBO and public agency partners, will join us! Here's what we have planned so far: - April 21 - Prioritizing Pedestrians: Making a Walkable Neighborhood - May 19 - ADU 101: The What, How, and What's Next of Accessory Dwelling Units - June 16 - Creating Green & Open Space out of Underutilized Lots - Sept 22 - The Digital Divide: Progress and Needs - Oct 20 - Transit-Oriented Communities: The Intersection of Affordable Housing and Public Transportation - Nov 17 - Public Art: Make Your Neighborhood Beautiful (and More!) Photovoice is a process in which people use video and/or photo images to capture aspects of their environment and experiences; the pictures can then be used to illustrate the realities of the photographers’ lives to the public and policy makers and to spur change. In the Florence-Firestone neighborhood, residents have documented concerns like sidewalks that lack ramps into crosswalks, impeding access for people using wheelchairs, strollers or shopping carts.
