**LEADING NATIONAL VETERANS ADVOCATE DAN GOLDENBERG TO SPEAK**

**AT 19th ANNUAL JVS STRICTLY BUSINESS L.A. AWARDS LUNCHEON**

**WHAT:** JVS Strictly Business L.A. celebrates corporate social responsibility and the power of effective public-private-nonprofit partnerships to create meaningful change in our community.

**WHEN**: Thursday, May 12, 2016

11am: Networking Reception

Noon – 1:30pm Luncheon &amp; Program

**WHERE:** The Beverly Hilton, 9876 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills 90210

**WHO:** **Dan Goldenberg**, highly regarded national advocate for veterans and executive director of the Call of Duty Endowment will be the keynote speaker. Goldenberg currently serves as a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Goldenberg will provide insights into the state of veteran employment in L.A. and in the United States. The Call of Duty Endowment is a leading funder of veteran-focused organizations nationwide, establishing best practices, promoting military hiring, and supporting organizations like JVS that are helping veterans transition into civilian careers. Award-winning NBC4 weatherman **Fritz Coleman** returns for his 4th year as event host.

**Universal Protection Service**, one of the largest providers of security services in North America, will be honored with the **JVS Corporate Partnership Award** in recognition of their efforts to help JVS put veterans and other job seekers back to work.

JVS will present its **Inspiration Award** to three JVS clients whose successes illustrate the mission of the agency to help lift people out of poverty and over significant barriers to employment. A formerly homeless veteran, a survivor of domestic violence and a youth who was both out of school and out of work tell their stories in a compelling video.

**WHY**: One of the city’s premiere networking events, JVS Strictly Business highlights the life-changing work of JVS as hundreds of successful business owners, professionals, entrepreneurs and philanthropists gather to support a luncheon with a purpose.

**BIO ON DAN GOLDENBERG**

[**Dan Goldenberg**](http://www.callofdutyendowment.org/dan_goldenberg) is the Executive Director of the Call of Duty Endowment, which provides grants to the best non-profits in the country that are getting unemployed veterans high-quality jobs. He also is a commander in the Navy Reserve and was active duty in the military for 23 years. Highlights of Goldenberg’s military career include tours as a commanding officer, a carrier-based naval flight officer, and special assistant to the Secretary of the Navy. He also has over a decade of business experience, most recently serving as Sr. Vice President of Growth Partnership Services at Frost &amp; Sullivan, a global research and management consulting firm. Prior to that, he was a senior director and practice manager at CEB. Goldenberg is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Harvard Business School, and the Air Command and Staff College. His strong personal connection to veterans and first-hand understanding of the impact they can have in the civilian workforce drive the Endowment’s efforts to place veterans into high quality jobs.
