> The California Heritage Museum is a local Santa Monica gem worth checking out. It is located on Main Street near Ocean Park Blvd., in a 120 year old historic California home loaded with local Santa Monica history. Not only is the house worth checking out, but the short-term exhibits and regular events are too.

> The home once belonged to Roy Jones, son of Nevada senator and City of Santa Monica founder John Percival Jones. It was original built in 1894 located at 1007 Ocean Avenue at Washington Ave designed by architect Sumner P. Hunt. Much of the living room and family rooms are preserved to the original wooden paneling, containing rancho furniture, furnishings, and vintage Maddux pottery. The upstairs four bedrooms have been converted into a gallery to house the frequent exhibitions.

> The museum puts forth great effort bringing interesting exhibits some regarding California history and others simply entertaining. Exhibits from the past are: tattoo art, California landscape photography, quilts, skateboards, and most recently Awkward Family Portraits exhibit which was a great success. The next upcoming exhibit will be on watercolors of the 1920’s-50’s slated for June 2015.

If you love local history, this is the place for you.

> In addition to the exhibits, there are reoccurring events of Farmer’s market on Sunday mornings, Gourmet food trucks on Tuesday nights, monthly classic car night, and a bi-annual Antique and Contemporary Tile Sale.

She is currently providing superb concierge duties at the Building and Safety Division of the City of Beverly Hills. She is active in countless church and civic organizations and spends every minute she can spare dancing to the Zumba beat. For those of you who are not familiar with Zumba, it is a choreographed fitness program, very similar to a dance class with routines encompassing all kinds of rhythms like Salsa, Bollywood, Hip Hop, all fused together an hour of sweaty and increased heart-rate fun.**
