RESISTANCE WATCH--Do we really have to go over this again? It hardly seems possible that, once more, people need to be reminded that women do not bring on or invite sexual harassment or assault.
RESISTANCE WATCH--Amid its crackdowns on so-called sanctuary cities, the Trump administration has faced backlash from the municipalities that don’t require local law enforcement to implement federal immigration policy. Now, California has passed legislation to become a “sanctuary state.” The Los Angeles Times writes:

SAN FRANCISCO AND OAKLAND LEAD THE CHARGE--Environmentalists are celebrating two new lawsuits filed by the cities of Oakland and San Francisco, California, in attempts to hold some of the world's largest oil companies to account for fueling climate change.

RESISTANCE WATCH--U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the Trump administration would be eliminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration policy established by the Obama administration in June 2012.
RESISTANCE WATCH-- Lawyers for 15 states, led by New York and Washington, filed suit against President Trump on Wednesday over his planned repeal of the DACA program, arguing that federal authorities have “backtracked” on their promise to protect young immigrants who came forward and registered with the government. RESISTANCE WATCH--As we reported in our last issue, communities from the ocean to downtown and back have been at the mercy of a thin aerial highway of packed air flights soaring over them throughout the day and late into the night, with rare respite. And it’s getting worse.

RESISTANCE WATCH--It’s been over seven months since the Women’s March -- and those of us who are in the trenches on the frontline or even on social media have not had one moment of respite.
RESISTANCE WATCH--Alana Conner, a cultural scientist at Stanford, tells Vox that, “Telling people they’re racist, sexist, and xenophobic is going to get you exactly nowhere.”
RESISTANCE WATCH--The August recess isn't over yet, but progressive organizations are using the time to mobilize against looming Republican plans—spearheaded by the Trump administration in the White House and by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) in Congress—to give corporations and the nation's wealthiest individuals massive tax cuts while putting services and social programs on the chopping block.
RESISTANCE WATCH--More than 200 Durham, North Carolina residents stood outside a jail on Thursday, attempting to turn themselves in for the removal of the city's Confederate Soldiers Monument—to protest the arrests of eight people who have been accused of dismantling the monument. The group chanted, "Thank you, we love you," in support of those who were arrested.
RESISTANCE WATCH---Thousands of Americans in cities across the country rallied Sunday night to denounce the racism displayed at the so-called "Unite the Right" rally that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia, and to mourn the death of Heather Heyer, an activist who was killed Saturday during an anti-racist demonstration. RESISTANCE WATCH--Though some suggest the Republicans' effort to push through "tax reform" will likely fail like their effort to repeal Obamacare, the White House and its corporate allies have undertaken a coordinated campaign to ensure the passage of a tax code rewrite that stands to fatten the pockets of the wealthiest.

Of course, McCain has long been a fixture in the GOP, pre-dating the 2008 Palin fiasco. And his newly diagnosed gliobastoma makes this story even more compelling.

RESISTANCE WATCH--On Wednesday, our beloved Congressman Brad Sherman took a huge leap and put himself at risk to introduce Articles of Impeachment (photo above). This is a monumental step, as he went beyond the confines of the Democratic Party and put our nation first. As a result, he is getting haters, trolls and threats on Facebook. Furthermore, he will get flack, not just from Trumpers and Republicans, but from Democrats too.
RESISTANCE WATCH--With the public comment period ending Monday, there are just hours left for the public to weigh in on President Donald Trump's order that threatens protections of 27 national monuments designated since 1996.
RESISTANCE WATCH--Organizers of the Women's March on Washington—which took place the day after Donald Trump's inauguration and inspired solidarity marches in hundreds of cities across the globe—are planning a protest against the National Rifle Association for July 14, in response to a video published to the NRA's Facebook page last month.
