Shriver Seemed Shocked That He Lost

VOICES-Thank you for your article (‘Lessons Learned from the Shriver Keuhl Duel’).  Shriver went very negative in his campaign while Kuehl stayed positive and focused. (I supported Kuehl because there was no comparison between the 2 of them in experience and ability.) 

The night Shriver lost, I watched him make a speech on television, not congratulating Kuehl, but saying what his relatives were the heads of. He seemed shocked that he did not win, despite his famous family con nections. 

Now, regarding Nury Martinez, when 5 of us (women) resigned from NHWNeighborhood Council  because of sexism and bullying, Nury, who first met us because I walked over to her, took the time to listen, and then to get involved. She put forth a bill to teach about sexism and bullying (which was then watered down to nothing by DONE). But here was a politician who listened to us and then proceeded to do something. 

I am surprised that Cindy Montanez is challenging her. Nury is definitely a strong woman on the LA Board of Supervisors, while Cindy, a woman, is really just 'one of the boys.'
