Haters, Baiters, ‘Traitors’ and Bellyachers--The 2016 Presidential Elections Are On!

ARCHIVE

ALPERN AT LARGE-Hey, who needs "The Jerry Springer Show" when you've got presidential politics?  And for those of you who didn't have enough raw meat, red meat and dead meat to chew on with the "I hate the Republicans" or the "I hate Obama" paradigms, well...guess what?

Now it's open season among the different wings of Democrats and Republicans to turn on each other!

Hate the Republicans, do ya?  Well, if it makes you happy, the Republican base hates the GOP leadership, and it appears that it's vice versa, to boot, with retaliation the name of the game among House Majority Leader John Boehner and his trusted cadre of insiders.

Despise the President, eh?  Well, take a number--Progressive Democrats like Elizabeth Warren, Sherrod Brown and others are infuriated at the President siding with the Republicans on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, and it appears that President Obama is pretty upset at these Progresives, too.

And now that both Republicans and Democrats have found common ground in the Senate at opposing the overly-secretive Iran-America deal that--as with Obamacare--we'll have to pass it to know what's in it, we finally appear to have a bipartisan consensus that maybe our President has finally crossed the constitutional line.

Either that, or the end of the Obama Era is beginning to draw nigh, and the concerns about a lack of transparency from this Administration (or perhaps just weariness among those within the American citizenry and an otherwise "loyal" media of having to bodily catch bullet after bullet after bullet for this President) are beginning to bubble up to the surface of American consciousness.

Because many want "hope and change" from "the Era of Hope and Change", and therefore are confronting Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton because her mega-secretive ways aren't so easily dismissed as ad hominem GOP attacks.

Heck, even former President George W. Bush--arguably the most hated-on man in this nation--has found his voice in opposing President Obama's foreign policy, which begs the question: is it possible to resent or despise both men and still be a true American?

So, my fellow infuriated Americans, was it treason to oppose President Bush, treason to oppose President Obama, both, or neither?

And is GOP frontrunner Scott Walker the next Mitt Romney, or is Hillary Clinton the next Mitt Romney.

Is GOP frontrunner Scott Walker too white for you?  Is Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton too old for you?

{module [1177]}

Because clearly our open-minded nation has deemed old, white Americans as unfit and un-American for leadership as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

So it's up to a new generation of white guys like Jon Stewart to hate, bait, malign and belittle a segment of America that ranks up to a third or even a half of the population to replace the outdated hating, baiting, maligning and belittling of the opposite segment of America caused by the much older Rush Limbaugh.

Because Fox News is much more partisan than the Huffington Post, Comedy Central, Salon, MSNBC and the Daily Beast, and we can't have that now, can we?

And what would we do if we didn't have AM talk radio and the mainstream print media to fairly present both sides of the arguments and debates of our times?

Have a civil discussion and recognize that complicated issues don't always get accurately presented in limited one-liners and sound bytes?

Well, forget THAT--it's the time for the raw meat, red meat and dead meat for us all to chew on...even for the liberal vegans among us.

But don't worry, all you Americans in "the vital center" who are trying to separate the truth from the hype:  all that meat is almost certain to be gluten-free, and happily digestible.
